Sheff Utd have won three a row in all contests since losing to Blackburn. Rovers, meanwhile, are fresh off a win after an earlier loss. Let’s take a closer look at each side.

Sheff Utd v Blackburn FA Cup Prediction – Preview

Sheffield United F.C.

Sheffield United are looking to win their fifth-ever FA Cup, last winning the trophy in 1924/25. They booked their slot in the quarter-finals by seeing off Premier League side Tottenham, 1-0 in the fifth round at Bramall Lane. After a goalless first half, substitute Iliman Ndiaye fired into the near post in 79 minutes to upset Spurs. The Paul Heckingbottom-led side would then lose to Blackburn, before winning three straight in the Championship. Will the Blades march on into the last four?

Blackburn Rovers F.C.

Blackburn Rovers are looking to lift the FA Cup for the 7th time in history, and their first since 1928. They secured their slot in the quarter-final after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Despite having only 36% of possession, The Rovers made most of their chances as Tyrhys Dolan and Sammie Szmodics scored in either half of the game. Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back after one hour of play, but the Riversiders held on for the victory. The Jon Dahl Tomasson-led side would then defeat quarter-final opponents Sheff Utd in the Championship, then lose 2-3 to Stoke City before winning against Reading 2-1. Will the stars align for the Riversiders yet again in the FA Cup?

Sheff Utd v Blackburn FA Cup Prediction – Final Thoughts

At the Championship table and on the pitch, Sheff Utd have the edge. Blackburn, however, have been a surprising bunch under Tomasson, as they are not far behind in 5th. The Blades will surely learn from their earlier encounter and make things tough for the Riversiders. But we believe the Riversiders’ ability to thrive when the underdog will pull through, sending them to the semis. With that, let’s take a look at our predictions.
