Roma have had mixed results in their last five matches across all competitions, but are heading into the UECL final fresh off a win. Feyenoord too have been inconsistent in the same span of games, but are coming off a loss going into the showdown in Albania. Let’s now take a closer look at each side.
Roma v Feyenoord Prediction – Preview
A.S. Roma
A.S. Roma are trying to win their first major European trophy since the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1960/61. They secured their place in the final by defeating Leicester City 2-1 on aggregate in the two-legged semi-final. In the first leg at the King Power Stadium, I Giallorossi went ahead on 15 minutes when Lorenzo Pellegrini slotted home, but conceded the lead when Gianluca Mancini turned in Harvey Barnes’ driven cross at the 67th minute. Tammy Abraham broke the aggregate deadlock at the Stadio Olimpico when he headed in Pellegrini’s corner on 11 minutes, and the home team held on to win the tie. Roma manager Jose Mourinho, who is looking to be the first manager to win all UEFA competitions, earlier stated that he believes Feyenoord will have the advantage in the final, but was quiet later during the press briefing after their match with Torino about their plans for the Dutch side. Can we smell another surprise cooking from the “Special One”?
Feyenoord Rotterdam
Feyenoord Rotterdam are trying to win their first European trophy since lifting the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) in 2001/02. They booked their ticket to the Air Albania Stadium by seeing off Olympique de Marseille 3-2 on aggregate in the UECL semi-final. The first leg in Rotterdam saw the home team take control of a close 3-2 match, with Cyriel Dessers finishing home Luis Sinisterra’s pass to open the scoring, and Sinisterra himself right-footing home Reiss Nelson’s assist. OM would later equalise by halftime on goals from Bamba Dieng and Gerson, but Dessers restored the lead after the break by left-footing this time from the centre of the box. The following leg in Marseille ended in a scoreless draw, sending the Dutch side to the final. Feyenoord manager Arne Slot himself stated that they were facing a “strong opponent” in Roma, but “they know what to expect”. Could their preparations see them defeat the Italians en route to ending their European drought?

Roma v Feyenoord Prediction – Final Thoughts
With both sides defeating their respective opponents by the slimmest of margins, we can expect the same in the first-ever UECL final. However, while Feyenoord have undoubtedly shined in Europe, Roma have been more battle-tested in international competition. And with Mourinho proving that he still has that coaching fire in him, we could expect another master class from both manager and team. On that note, let’s take a look at our prediction.
