Their first league game after the World Cup break had them seeing off Bournemouth 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. At just 16 minutes, Kai Havertz fired from close range to break the deadlock. Mason Mount then doubled the lead with a curling shot from outside the box eight minutes later. The Blues almost added more goals, but Cherries keeper Mark Travers denied efforts from Mount, Reece James and Raheem Sterling.
