“In my wildest dreams, I would never think of this,” said Haaland. “It shows it’s possible for a guy from a small town in Norway. It gives hopes to younger people in my hometown.”

Haaland also praised Guardiola, calling him the ‘best coach in the world’. “We have a good relationship and I look forward to next season to develop even more.”

Rodri, who scored the difference-making goal, remarked that the European club championship was “emotional”, and “a dream come true”.

He also praised Inter Milan for their tenacity. “It wasn’t easy [for us],” said the 26-year old. “What a team we faced, the way they defend and counter-attack.”

“They deserve it, we deserve it,” said the Spanish midfielder of his teammates. ” The last years we were so close. You can’t expect to play as well as always. Emotions and nerves are there. We competed like animals. It’s a dream. This moment will never happen again.”
