Liverpool v Tottenham Prediction – Preview

Liverpool F.C.

Liverpool are currently seated 7th in the Premier League table, and are just a point short of Tottenham, whilst having one game in hand. In their last outing, they narrowly escaped West Ham United 2-1 at the London Stadium. Lucas Pagueta opened the scoring for the Hammers on 12 minutes, but the Reds levelled 6 minutes later when Trent Alexander-Arnold played in Cody Gakpo for the finish. Jarrod Bowen thought he had scored after the break to retake the lead, but VAR ruled the goal out. Instead, it was the Merseysiders who went ahead on 67 minutes, when Joel Matip headed into the top corner. The Jurgen Klopp-led side claimed a third straight win in the process as they continue to pursue a European slot for next year. Could they do it again at home against Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently 5th in the table, six points behind the Champions League slots. They came back to salvage a point against Manchester United, drawing them 2-2 at Old Trafford. Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford gave the home side a two-goal lead heading into the break, but Pedro Porro cut the lead in half when he volleyed from edge of the area on 56 minutes. Son Heung-min erased the lead with 11 minutest to play, as he finished home Harry Kane‘s cross. With this effort, caretaker manager Ryan Mason ended a two-loss skid by Spurs. As the search for a permanent boss continues, could they finally land a win against the Reds this weekend?

Liverpool v Tottenham Prediction – Final Thoughts

Both sides in this game are evenly matched, with only one point separating Liverpool and Tottenham in the table. However, the Reds’ recent winning streak suggests that they have the momentum, and being at home at Anfield gives them the extra edge. Spurs’ attacking duo of Kane and Son remain formidable, but so are the Reds, who should see off their visitors with relative ease. With that, let’s take a look at our predictions.
