Haaland named footballer of the year (Sports News) – Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has been chosen by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) as the Men’s Footballer of the Year. The Norwegian striker, who netted 51 goals for 47 matches with Man City, received 82 per cent of the writers’ vote. He placed ahead of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and compatriot Martin Odegaard in the voting.
