Chelsea v Liverpool EPL Prediction – Preview

Chelsea F.C.

Chelsea have gone down to bottom half of the Premier League table. In their first match after the international break, they bowed to Aston Villa 0-2 at Stamford Bridge. Despite the Blues being a more dominant side, Ollie Watkins sent one past Kepa Arrizabalaga to give them the leave at halftime. John McGinn doubled the lead after the restart, and while Joao Feliz, Kai Havertz and Ngolo Kante went close, the hosts were blanked for the 4th time at home. This prompted the dismissal of Graham Potter as boss, with Bruno Saltor expected to be in charge of the match against the Reds. Can the Londoners recover and get back in the race?

Liverpool F.C.

Liverpool are just outside the European slots of the EPL table, four points clear of Chelsea with a game in hand. They too suffered a huge defeat after the break, as Manchester City came from behind to defeat them 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring as he fired home Diogo Jota’s assist on 17 minutes. However, the Cityzens levelled at the break with Julian Alvarez’s finish, and never looked back as Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish all got past Ederson. Manager Jurgen Klopp and his side have yet another tough assignment with fellow mid-table side Chelsea despite their change in management. Could they snap their losing streak once and for all?

Chelsea v Liverpool EPL Prediction – Final Thoughts

Given the recent history between these two sides, it looks likely to go down the wire at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea, while being at home, will wonder how the change in management will affect their game, not to mention the injury of some key players. Liverpool too have their own injuries to deal with, and have yet to recover the spark of their thrashing of Manchester United. Thus, we see a possible deadlock; if not a narrow win by the attack-heavy Reds. With that, let’s take a look at our predictions.
