As of this writing, Brighton have won twice, drawn once and lost once in their last five outings in all competitions. Man Utd have had a similar record, but are currently preparing to face Sevilla in their UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg prior to this matchup. Let’s take a closer look at both teams.

Brighton v Man Utd Prediction – Preview

Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.

Brighton & Hove Albion are looking to win the FA Cup for the very first time, previously finishing as high as first runner-up back in 1909. They booked their ticket to Wembley by seeing off League Two side Grimsby Town 5-0 at the Amex Stadium. Deniz Undav opened the scoring on just 6 minutes. Evan Ferguson then scored a brace in the second half to triple the lead, and Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma each netted in the last two minutes to knock out the Mariners. The Roberto De Zerbi-led side are also aiming for a European slot in the Premier League, with their last outing seeing them defeat Chelsea 2-1. Could they get one step closer to ending their trophy drought at Wembley against Man Utd?

Manchester United F.C.

Manchester United are looking to lift the FA Cup for the 13th time, having last done so in 2016. They booked their slot in the semi-finals by seeing off Premier League side Fulham 3-1 at Old Trafford. After Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the first goal on 5 minutes, he and teammate Willian were sent off 22 minutes later. This allowed the Red Devils to stage a comeback, as Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot, and Marcel Sabitzer followed it up two minutes later to pull into the lead. Fernandes scored an insurance to take them one step closer to their second consecutive trophy of the season. As of this writing, the Erik ten Hag-led side are third in the EPl table, and are fresh off an emphatic 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. Man Utd are also still in Europe, although they are level with Sevilla now in the Europa League, the second leg of which will be played before this semi-final. However, with an growing injury list consisting of key players such as Marcus Rashford, could they still manage to remain in contention against Brighton?

Brighton v Man Utd Prediction – Final Thoughts

Brighton have been remarkable under both De Zerbi and Graham Potter before him, and reaching the FA Cup semi-final may be their most significant achievement in years. The Seagulls have also defeated Man Utd twice prior to this encounter. However, this was before Ten Hag’s side turned into the force that led to them lifting the EFL Cup after a six-year trophy drought. However, with the Red Devils’ injuries, this contest may be closer than expected. Nevertheless, we expect the Mancunian side to narrowly pull through and come back to Wembley for another date with destiny. Let’s take a look at our predictions.
