Brighton v Chelsea EPL Prediction – Preview

Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.

Brighton & Hove Albion are currently seated 9th at the table in the Premier League. Their last outing saw then take a 1-3 beating from Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland was in classic form for the hosts as he buried the Seagulls into a 0-2 deficit at the break. Leandro Trossard cut down the lead when he rifled his shot into the net, but Kevin De Bruyne sealed their fate with a 75th minute netter. Manager Roberto De Zerbi, who took over from Potter earlier this season, was happy with his side despite the loss, considering that they are still in management transition. But with their boss’ new club looming next, they will be looking to prove a statement out on the pitch.

Chelsea F.C.

Chelsea are currently seated 5th in the table, only beaten by Newcastle United by goal difference for the UCL spot. Their last league meeting saw them being held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. The game started off slow, with Kepa Arrizabalaga making crucial saves in the first 45 minutes. The Blues got their break with 3 minutes to play, as Jorginho scored from the spot after Scott McTominay fouled Armando Broja. However, Casemiro equalised in stoppage, causing the points to be shared. Potter’s new squad also saw action in the UCL, where they saw off hosts Salzburg, 2-1. Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz scored in either half to secure the Blues’ spot in the knockout stages. This puts the boys in a good position for Potter’s “homecoming”.
